Television executive Channing Dungey has been named Chairman of Warner Brothers Television Group. She will succeed Peter Roth who announced last week that he was stepping down from the company after 22 years.
Dungey was chief programmer at ABC, where she became the first Black executive to run network programming at one of the four broadcast networks.
Most recently, she was VP of Original Content and head of drama at Netflix. She was this post for the last 20 months.
