In October I wrote a “Wishful Programming” with my take on a “Sex and The City” reboot. At that time it wasn’t clear that HBO was thinking about reviving the series, but I wanted to share my thoughts of what the franchise could look like now.
This weekend Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis announced on their individual Twitter feeds that “Sex and the City” was indeed returning, but this time on the streaming service HBO Max. Two big changes for the revival will be the title, with the series call “And Just Like That” and that Kim Cattrall who played Samantha not a part of the new series.
The 10-episode series will focus on the three friends navigating their friendship in their 50s. No word on how Samantha’s absence will be addressed.
In my pitch for the reboot, I did address Samantha not being around.
