Showtime’s “Shameless” sets it’s final season return for December 6th. The network’s favorite family, The Gallaghers can be seen Sunday nights at 9pm EST.
The final season consists of 12 episodes meaning its series finale should air sometime in March 2021.
In a press release, Showtime describe’s the “Shameless” final season as having the Gallagher family at a crossroads with changes caused by the COVID pandemic, gentrification and aging.
The final season will be the series second without star Emmy Rossum as Fiona. With Fiona’s absence, oldest brother Lip has become de facto head of the family as patriarch Frank continues his off beat shenanigans.
In the season 10 finale, we saw Ian and Mickey marry in a funny but ultimately quite sweet episode. In the final season we’ll be sure to watch them try to figure out how to navigate marriage.
Debbie will continue to balance her career with being a single mom. Carl flirted with a career in law enforcement last season so we’ll see if he’s dedicated to pursing that path.
As for our favorite next door neighbors Veronica and Kevin, they’ll have to make some tough choices about their future living on the South Side of Chicago.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the Gallagher’s story wraps. I hope that we’ll be surprised with a guest appearance by Fiona since she was integral in the show’s success.
After the final season airs on Showtime, it should be available on Netflix sometime during September 2021.
