A member of the “Days of our Lives” production team has tested positive for COVID-19 forcing the NBC daytime drama to shut down production for the next two weeks.

The team member has been placed in isolation and contact tracing has been completed.

“Days of our Lives” resumed production in early September after an industry wide shut down in March. The series was the last of the four U.S. soaps to resume production having put strict testing protocols into place.

Hopefully this swift response will mitigate the spread of the virus and not further interrupt production. “Days of our Lives” was the only soap to continue to air original episodes throughout the spring and summer because they produce episodes so far ahead of air. Now they’re about six weeks out and expect to continue to air original episodes uninterrupted.

Production is set to resume on October 26.
