The Paramount Network has cancelled tv stalwart Cops after a six year run on the network.
Cops originally premiered as a syndicated series in 1989 and ran for 25 season. The show was brought back in 2013 when then Spike TV ordered fresh episodes of the show. In 2018, Spike TV was rebranded as Paramount Network and Cops continued airing on the new network.
The cancellation comes amid nationwide protests over George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis and a popular sentiment that policing needs to be reformed nationwide.
