It’s a been a busy year for the stars of the FX series ATLANTA. Creator/lead Donald Glover is about to make is debut in a galaxy far far away as Lando Calrissian in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. Zazzie Beetz (Van) will be in DEADPOOL 2 as Domino and Lakeith Stanfield (Darius) was featured in this year’s OSCAR winning Best Picture nominee GET OUT.
This morning Brian Tyree Henry who plays aspiring rapper Paper Boi has been starring in the play LOBBY HERO on Broadway, earned a TONY nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play. Henry was nominated for an Emmy last season for his guest performance in THIS IS US (NBC).
This isn’t his first foray on the “great white way”, in 2011 he was part of the original ensemble of THE BOOK OF MORMON, eventually taking on the featured role of General until his departure from the show in 2014.
Henry is fantastic as Paper Boi in ATLANTA and could see his name among the Best Supporting Actor Emmy nominees soon. Paper Boi has been heavily featured in standalone episodes of the series second season.
